JILCCE 2026 Exam Pattern

Main Exam Pattern
Based on Preliminary Exam marks, a merit list is prepared, and candidates equal to 15 times the total vacancy (category-wise) are shortlisted for the Main Exam. The Main Exam consists of 3 papers, each of 2 hours duration. Each question carries 3 marks, with the same +3/-1 marking scheme.

JILCCE 2026 Selection Process
- A Common Merit List is prepared based on Preliminary Exam marks. Candidates equal to 15 times the vacancy (category-wise) are selected for the Main Exam.
- After the Main Exam, a Common Merit List is prepared based on the combined marks of Paper 2 and Paper 3 only (Paper 1 is qualifying only).
- Category-wise selection lists are prepared as per merit-cum-option and the number of vacancies in each category.
- If two or more candidates have equal marks, the candidate with an older date of birth gets preference. If date of birth is also the same, merit is decided based on the English alphabetical order of the candidate’s name.
- Certificates of shortlisted candidates are verified by JSSC in coordination with the Personnel, Administrative Reform and Rajbhasha Department.

Important: Certificates issued in a format different from the prescribed Appendix format, or by an authority other than the competent authority, will generally not be accepted. Name and spelling in all certificates (Local Residence/Caste/Income & Asset) must exactly match the name and spelling in the Matriculation/10th certificate/marksheet.
Scribe/Writer Facility for PwD Candidates
- Candidates with 40% or more disability related to blindness/low vision, locomotor disability (both hands affected), or cerebral palsy can request a scribe (writer) facility.
- Such candidates get 20 minutes extra time per hour in the exam.
- Other PwD category candidates can also get scribe facility if a Physical Disability Certificate from the Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon (in the prescribed Appendix format) is submitted.
- The scribe facility is available only to those PwD candidates whose Admit Card shows “PH” printed against the reservation category.
- The request for scribe facility must be submitted to the JSSC office at least 15 days before the exam date.
- Failure to follow the above instructions may result in the scribe facility not being provided, for which the candidate will be solely responsible.
JILCCE 2026 General Instructions
- Admission to the examination is purely provisional. Issuance of an admit card does not confirm that the candidate meets the eligibility criteria for the post.
- Before applying, candidates must ensure they fulfil all published conditions related to educational qualification, minimum/maximum age limit, reservation category, local residence, and disability category.
- If reservation is not claimed in the prescribed column of the application, the benefit of reservation will not be given later.
